Yoga

Yoga does more than burn calories and tone muscles. It's a total mind-body workout that combines strengthening and stretching poses with deep breathing and relaxation. Yoga poses stretch your muscles and increase your range of motion. With regular practice, they'll improve your flexibility. And even though yoga is not aerobic, some research finds it can be just as good as aerobic exercise for improving health. Although yoga will give you a full-body workout, it won't put any impact on your joints. People of all ages and fitness levels can do the most basic yoga poses and stretches.

Zumba

Grooving to the beats of salsa, flamenco, and merengue music feels more like a dance party than a workout, which is exactly what makes Zumba so popular. The Latin-inspired dance workout is one of the most popular group exercise classes in the world. You don’t need to be a great dancer to feel welcome in a Zumba class, as it emphasizes moving to the music and having a good time, no rhythm required. You’ll get a great cardio workout that melts fat, strengthens your core, and improves flexibility.

Tai Chi

Take a class and learn about this ancient Chinese exercise that may help with joint pain, flexibility, and balance. Practicing tai chi also improves your range of motion, flexibility, and balance. It's easy to start, and not competitive. But it can take time to master the poses. Progress is measured in terms of coordination, strength, balance, flexibility, breathing, digestion, emotional balance, and a sense of well-being.

Martial Arts

Martial arts cover a broad range of activities which involve fighting techniques, physical exercises, and methods of mental discipline, among other skills. Martial arts originated in the ancient cultures of Asia, and is used today around the world for self-defense, exercise, health, spiritual growth, law enforcement, and athletic competition.

Jazzercise

These 60-minute group fitness classes combine cardio, strength, and stretch moves for a total body workout. Moves from hip-hop, yoga, Pilates, jazz dance, kickboxing, and resistance training are included.  All ages, levels, and sizes are welcome! Jazzercise is held at Borchard, Conejo, and Thousand Oaks Centers.  Babysitting is available at the Borchard Center sessions and must be scheduled in advance.  For specific program information, visit PROGRAM REGISTRATION and use keyword JAZZERCISE.
