Outdoor Programs & Hikes

Hiking in the Conejo ValleyCome enjoy the Conejo Recreation and Park District’s 12,500 acres of open space and 140 miles of trails. We offer organized hikes, programs, classes and camping trips for all ages and skill levels!

Monthly Hikes
We offer many fun monthly hikes for families including Bonkers for Bugs, All About Owls, Hikes for Tykes, Paradise Falls Hike, Night Awareness Hikes, Full Moon Hike, All About Owls, and our two most popular treks: S'mores & Hotdog hikes!

Check out our seasonal hikes such as Holiday S'mores, Thanksgiving Nature Crafts Spooky S'mores, St. Patrick’s Day S'mores, Sunset with Your Sweetheart Hike, Wildflower Hike,  Dinosaur Dig, and more!

Outdoor Classes
The Outdoor Unit offers classes ranging from fitness, photography, and geocaching to hiking with your dogs, plus programs for children.

Family Campout
Family Campout is held twice a year in Wildwood Regional Park - From 1:00pm on Saturday through noon the next day, usually in late April and mid-September.  Designed for families of all ages, the campout includes hikes, crafts & games, campfire fun, meals, and even s'mores. Families hike to the camping area while Recreation staff and COSCA Rangers bring family tents and other gear to the site. All the fun of camping with (almost) none of the work!

Custom Hike Program
Take advantage of our Custom Hike Program. We can tailor hikes to meet your group's specific needs. Examples of custom programs we can offer include s'more hikes, nature hikes, map and compass, wilderness survival, animal tracking, birding, geocaching, and more!
